Stair Un Grooved HDR Base Rail 

27mm x 58mm Solid Un-Grooved Base Rail 

Select from 1800mm, 2400mm, 3600mm or 4200mm Lengths 

These rails are manufactured from Pine or American White Oak to match our ranges of Oak Stair Parts. The rails are un-grooved with a flat surface suitable for fixing Surface Mounted Spindles or chrome and brushed chrome glass clamps. 

Fitting Base Rails and Handrail to Newel Post

Base Rails are screwed to the top of the stair string through the top of the rail, screws will need to be positioned so they are hidden by the Glass Clamps or spindle Brackets. Remember to counter sink any screw heads. Use the same method for fixing the rail to the landing floor. 

Handrails can be fitted to and design of newel post with a flat face by either a traditional Mortice and Tenon joint or by using our handrail to newel post fixing kits. 

HDR Rails can also be fitted to a wall as a wall mounted rail by using wall brackets designed to fit on the underside of the rail and then to a wall up the stair well or on a landing.

Staircase Building Regulations 

IMPORTANT - Spindles or Glass should not be spaced more than 99mm apart to meet current building regulations 

Current building Regulations state that a sphere of 100mm in diameter should not be allowed to pass between two spindles or glass panels.
