Contemporary Square Profile Base Rail. This product is only available in Pine or Oak - please request a quote for other timber types 

Square Ungrooved Profile Base Rail Measures 27mm High x 58mm Wide 

Select your timber type and handrail length from the drop down boxes above 

90 Degree horizontal handrail bends are not available for this profile however these can be created during installation by cutting a miter in the handrail and forming a 90 degree bend. 

Fixing Base Rail 

Base Rails are fitted centrally over the stair string (side of the stairs) by drilling pilot holes through the rail and fixing with suitable countersunk wood screws. The screw heads need to be sunk below the surface of the base rail and filled

Use the same process on the landing by screwing to the landing sub floor 

Stair Case Building Regulations 

IMPORTANT - Spindles should not be spaced more than 99mm apart to meet current building regulations 

Current building Regulations state that a sphere of 100mm in diameter should not be allowed to pass between two spindles 

Handrail height needs to be a minimum of 900mm. Measure from the floor to the top of the handrail on the landing area and measure from the front of a tread to the top of the handrail on the stairs.
